Prayers to Lord Nrsimhadeva
(1)
namas te narasiṁhāya
prahlādāhlāda-dāyine
hiraṇyakaśipor vakṣaḥ-
śilā-ṭaṅka-nakhālaye
I offer my obeisances to Lord Narasimha, who gives joy to Prahlada Maharaja and whose nails are like chisels on the stonelike chest of the demon Hiranyakasipu.
नमस्ते नृसिंहाय
प्रह्लादह्लाद दायिने।
हिरण्यकशिपोर्वक्षः
शिलाटंक नखालये॥
मैं नृसिंह भगवान् को प्रणाम करता हूँ जो प्रह्लाद महाराज को आनन्द प्रदान करने वाले हैं तथा जिनके नख दैत्यराज हिरण्यकशिपु के पाषाण सदृश वक्षस्थल के ऊपर छेनी के समान हैं।

ito nṛsiṁhaḥ parato nṛsiṁho
yato yato yāmi tato nṛsiṁhaḥ
bahir nṛsiṁho hṛdaye nṛsiṁho
nṛsiṁhaṁ ādiṁ śaraṇaṁ prapadye
Lord Nrsimha is here and also there. Wherever I go Lord Nrsimha is there. He is in the heart and is outside as well. I surrender to Lord Nrsimha, the origin of all things and the supreme refuge.
इतो नृसिंहः परतो नृसिंहो
यतो यतो यामि ततो नृसिंहः।
बहिर्नृसिंहो हृदये नृसिंहो
नृसिंहमादि शरणं प्रपद्ये॥
नृसिंह भगवान् यहाँ है और वहाँ भी हैं। मैं जहाँ कहीं भी जाता हॅूँ वहाँ नृसिंह भगवान् हैं। वे हृदय में हैं और बाहर भी हैं। मैं नृसिंह भगवान् की शरण लेता हूँ जो समस्त पदार्थों के स्रोत तथा परम आश्रय हैं।

tava kara-kamala-vare nakham adbhuta-śṛṅgaṁ
dalita-hiraṇyakaśipu-tanu-bhṛṅgam
keśava dhṛta-narahari-rūpa jaya jagadīśa hare
O Kesava! O Lord of the universe! O Lord Hari, who have assumed the form of half-man, half-lion! All glories to You! Just as one can easily crush a wasp between one’s fingernails, so in the same way the body of the wasplike demon Hiranyakasipu has been ripped apart by the wonderful pointed nails on Your beautiful lotus hands.
तव कर-कमल-वरे नखम् अद्भुत-श्रृंङ्गम्
दलित-हिरण्यकशिपु-तनु-भृंङ्गम्
केशव धृत-नरहरिरूप जय जगदीश हरे॥
हे केशव! हे जगत्पते! हे हरि! आपने नरसिंह का रूप धारण किया है आपकी जय हो। जिस प्रकार कोई अपने नाखूनों से भ्रमर को आसानी से कुचल सकता है उसी प्रकार भ्रमर सदृश दैत्य हिरण्यकशिपु का शरीर आपके सुन्दर कर-कमलों के नुकीले नाखूनों से चीर डाला गया है।
